Sell services without a fixed schedule (consulting, packages, and custom work)

When to use Catalog → Services to sell packages, retainers, or custom work without a calendar, and how to set them up.

On this page

Not every service starts by picking a time on a calendar. If you sell a design package, a website audit, a monthly marketing retainer, or custom work where clients hire you first and coordinate the details afterwards, your place is Catalog → Services.

When to choose Service (Catalog → Services) instead of Bookable service

In véltica, there are two separate folders for services because the customer’s buying flow is different in each one:

Feature Service (Catalog → Services) Bookable service (Catalog → Bookable services)
Does the customer pick a day and time when buying? No. The customer hires and pays for the service or package directly. Yes. They pick an open slot on your calendar first, then confirm or pay.
Does it allow recurring subscriptions? Yes. You can charge a one-time payment or bill every week, month, 3 months, 6 months, or year. No. It is charged per booked appointment (paid in full, deposit, or paid on site).
Can it be added to the cart? Yes, when it is a one-time payment. No, it always leads to its own booking calendar.
Ideal examples Monthly maintenance, 10-session pack, brand design, copywriting, project-based consulting. Haircut, medical or therapy consultation, timed photo shoot, yoga class.

Set up what the service includes, deliverables, and post-payment steps

To create one, go to Catalog → Services and click New offer:

  1. Describe your offer (What you sell): Give it a clear title (for example, Full SEO Audit or Monthly Website Maintenance), write the main benefit in one or two sentences in the short description, and use the full description to detail the deliverables, turnaround times, and who it is for.
  2. Add photos and additional information: Upload a cover image and supporting photos. If you offer several similar services, use the More info step to create structured fields (such as What’s included, Turnaround time, or Requirements) that you fill in for each service.
  3. Decide what happens after paying (Delivery): In the Where the buyer lands step, choose what your customer sees as soon as Stripe processes their payment:
    • Built-in thank-you page: Confirms the payment and shows the receipt right away with nothing to set up.
    • A page on my site: Ideal if you built a welcome page on your site with an onboarding questionnaire (Brief) or instructions to kick off the project. If you ever delete that page later, véltica automatically falls back to the built-in thank-you page so the purchase never breaks.
    • An external address: Sends the buyer to a URL outside your site (must start with https://), such as an external form or project board.

Offer free services or services paid online

In the Price step, you decide how customers hire your service:

  • One-time: The customer pays the amount once by card through Stripe.
  • Subscription: Ideal for retainers, memberships, or ongoing support. Pick the billing frequency (Every week, Every month, Every 3 months, Every 6 months, or Every year) and Stripe will charge the renewal automatically each period.
  • Free: If you offer a free assessment or an initial proposal request, pick Free. The customer will not have to enter a card or go through Stripe: they simply leave their name and email address. The entry shows up in Sales → Payments as a $0 order, and the person is automatically saved to your Contacts list.

Remember that on any service’s detail page (Settings → Sale notices tab) you can turn on Notify me about this offer and add up to 5 team email addresses to get an instant notification every time someone hires it.
