Create your first offer and understand the Catalog
What an offer is in véltica, the 4 types available, and why every new offer starts as a draft before going on sale.
On this page
An offer is anything you sell or deliver from your site: its name, its price, its photos, and what the person who buys or books it receives. In véltica, all your commercial inventory lives organized inside Catalog.
What the Catalog is (Catalog → All offers) and the 4 types of offers you can create
When you go to Catalog → All offers, you see everything you have created at a glance, regardless of its format. When you click New offer, a wizard asks What are you selling? to guide you through the right steps, because a downloadable file is not set up the same way as a product with sizes or an appointment with a schedule.
| Offer type | Where it lives in the menu | What it is for |
|---|---|---|
| Digital product | Catalog → Digital products | Downloadable files (up to 5 files of 15 MB each) or delivery links: PDF guides, templates, resource packs. |
| Physical product | Catalog → Physical products | Items you ship by carrier or hand over at your location. Lets you set up variants (sizes, colors), stock, and shipping options. |
| Service | Catalog → Services | Your work or time when it does not depend on picking a slot on a calendar: custom consulting, monthly retainers, design, or audits. |
| Bookable service | Catalog → Bookable services | One-to-one appointments or group classes where the customer picks a day and time on your available calendar. |
If you create the offer directly from its specific folder (for example, by going to Catalog → Physical products and clicking New), the wizard skips that first question and opens the form for that type right away.
Why creating offers is free and why they always start as Draft
Creating offers and building your entire catalog is free and does not depend on which plan you are on. You can upload your photos, write descriptions, set up variants, and preview how they look on your page before paying for a membership or connecting your bank.
Every new offer starts in Draft status: it exists in your dashboard and you can edit it as many times as you like, but no visitor can see it on your published site yet.
This is intentional. Putting an offer on sale is a separate step so you can prepare half your catalog at your own pace without a half-written product or a test price suddenly going live.
What you need to make an offer Public (connected Stripe account, business details, and policies)
Switching an offer to Public (or Published) means anyone with the link or on your site can pay for it right away. To make sure that purchase is valid, the money has a place to land, and your customer knows who they are buying from, véltica checks three things before activating it:
- Connected and active Stripe account: The money from your sales does not pass through véltica accounts; it goes straight into your own Stripe account. That is why, if the offer charges online, you need a Pro or Business plan and your account in Connected status under Settings → Stripe.
- A set price: Unless you explicitly mark the offer as Free (for digital products or services) or Free or paid on site (for bookings), it must have an amount greater than zero.
- Business information and policies: Your buyers need to know who is selling and under what terms. Under Settings → Business information you must fill in at least your business name, contact email, and address, and under Settings → Policies you can turn on the automatic version of your legal documents with one click.
The exception without Stripe: If you create a Free product or service, or a bookable service set to Free or paid on site, you can publish it on the free plan without connecting Stripe, because there is no card payment to process.
How to duplicate, withdraw, or delete an offer
From the table in Catalog → All offers (or inside any offer’s detail page, under the ⋯ options menu), you have three ways to manage the lifecycle of what you sell:
- Duplicate: Instantly creates a Draft copy with the
(copy)suffix in the title, keeping descriptions, prices, and structure so you only have to change what differs. - Withdraw (archive): For catalog offers (digital products, physical products, and services), instead of destroying the record you use Withdraw. The offer stops selling immediately and leaves your public shop, but it is not deleted from the database: that way past charges in Sales → Payments and your analytics can still show exactly what was sold.
- Delete service: In Catalog → Bookable services, you can permanently delete a service from its Settings tab. Its booking page disappears, although any upcoming appointments and existing charges are kept in your history with the service name stored on them.
