Bank transfers (Payouts): when and how your money reaches your bank
Check your available balance, money on its way, and when Stripe sends payouts to your bank in Sales → Payouts.
On this page
Everything you charge online accumulates in your connected Stripe account and is transferred automatically to the bank account you registered. In Sales → Payouts, you can see in real time how much money you have in your balance and which day it reaches your bank.
Check your bank transfers in Sales → Payouts
When you open Sales → Payouts (or look at the Payouts widget on your dashboard Home screen), véltica queries your Stripe account directly and shows you:
- Next payout: The amount scheduled to leave for your bank and the estimated arrival date (Arrives today, Arrives tomorrow, or the exact date).
- Your total balance breakdown: How much is ready to be paid out and how much was just charged.
- Transfer history and breakdown: Stripe’s embedded list showing every payout sent to your bank account, its status, and the individual sales included in each transfer. You can also click View in Stripe in the top-right corner to open your full Stripe dashboard.
Difference between Available balance, On its way, and completed payouts
When you make a card sale, the money does not land in your bank account that very second because card networks and banks take a few days to settle the charge. That is why Sales → Payouts breaks your money down into clear statuses:
| Term in Payouts | What it means |
|---|---|
| On its way (Charged, within Stripe’s window) | Sales you have already charged successfully whose funds are still being settled by the card-issuing banks before being released. |
| Available (Ready to be paid out) | Money that has finished processing in your Stripe balance and is ready to be included in the next automatic transfer to your bank. |
| Negative available (Deducted from your next payout) | Happens if you issued a refund or received a dispute while your available balance was zero; that amount is offset against your upcoming sales or payouts. |
| Next payout · on its way | The transfer Stripe has already sent out that is currently traveling to your bank account to be credited on the stated date. |
How often Stripe transfers money to your bank account and why the first payout takes a few extra days
The schedule on which money moves from On its way into your bank account follows two standard Stripe rules:
- Your first payout always takes ~7 to 14 days: For banking security and fraud prevention, when you connect a brand-new Stripe account and receive your first live sale, Stripe applies an initial waiting period of roughly 7 days (which can be up to 14 days in certain countries or industries) before sending your very first payout to your bank.
- Subsequent payouts follow your country’s standard rolling window: Once your first payout is complete, sales settle according to Stripe’s normal cycle in your region (typically between 2 and 7 business days depending on the country) and are transferred automatically to your bank at the frequency configured in your Stripe account (daily, weekly, or monthly).
If you see the notice Stripe has not enabled your payouts yet in Sales → Payouts, go to Settings → Stripe to check whether you still need to confirm your bank account or upload a verification document requested by Stripe.
