Sell physical products: variants, inventory (stock), and gallery
Create physical products with sizes or colors, track stock automatically, and organize your product photo gallery.
On this page
- Create a physical product from Catalog → Physical products
- Set up product variants (sizes, colors, materials) and per-variant prices or stock
- Track inventory (Stock): automatic deduction per sale, low-stock notices, and “Sold out” status on your site
- Reorder the product photo gallery and write expandable details
When you sell items that you ship in a package or hand over at your location—apparel, ceramics, skincare, books, or coffee—véltica lets you manage size or color combinations, deduct stock on every sale, and collect the shipping address at checkout.
Create a physical product from Catalog → Physical products
Go to Catalog → Physical products and click New offer. The wizard guides you step by step to get the item ready:
- Information (
Your product): Enter the title, the short description (shown at the top, next to the buy button), the full description (sizing, materials, care), and upload your photos. - Variants: Optional. Add options like Size, Colour, or Material if the item comes in more than one version.
- Price: Set how much the product costs in your project’s currency.
- Shipping (
How it gets there): Choose whether stock is Unlimited or if you want to Track units, and make sure you have at least one active shipping or pickup option. - More info: Add custom fields (such as Ingredients or How to use) that will be displayed on the product page.
When someone buys a physical product, Stripe’s payment page always asks for their shipping address and the delivery method they choose.
Set up product variants (sizes, colors, materials) and per-variant prices or stock
If your product comes in a single version (for example, a one-of-a-kind piece), you can skip the Variants step. If it sells in different options, set them up like this:
- In the Variants step, pick one of the quick presets (Size, Colour, Material) or click Custom to write your own (such as Scent, Capacity, or Style).
- Type each value and press
Enter(or separate several with commas), or use the quick Suggestions (XS, S, M, L, XLor color shades) to add them all at once. - véltica automatically generates the table with every possible combination (up to the maximum combinations per product).
If you click any variant in the table (or click Edit all), its individual dialog opens where you can adjust:
| Per-variant setting | How it works |
|---|---|
| Variant photo | Upload or pick the photo for that color or version. When the buyer selects that option in your store, the main photo switches to it automatically. |
| Price and “Compare-at price” | Left empty, it uses the product’s main price. If you enter a specific amount, that becomes its price. The Compare-at price field (when higher than the current price) shows crossed out in the store to highlight a discount. |
| Cost per item | Only visible to you in the dashboard; véltica uses it to calculate your profit per item and your percentage margin in real time. |
| Stock, SKU, and Barcode | Set how many units are left of that exact combination, and generate or type its SKU and UPC / EAN / ISBN barcode. |
On sale (Sell this one) |
If there is a combination you do not make (for example, Size XL in Green), turn it off: store visitors will see it as unavailable. |
Track inventory (Stock): automatic deduction per sale, low-stock notices, and “Sold out” status on your site
You can track stock in two ways: for the whole product (if it has no variants) in the Shipping step, or by variant from the variants table (or directly from the Stock by variant card on the product’s detail page).
- Unlimited: If you leave stock empty or choose Unlimited, the product is always available to buy.
- Track units: If you enter a whole number of available units:
- Automatic deduction: Every time a sale is confirmed, véltica deducts the purchased units from that product or variant.
- Low-stock notice: When only a few units are left, you get an alert in the notification bell (X left of [product]) with a direct shortcut to restock, and your store displays a low-stock badge.
- “Sold out” status: Once it reaches
0, the buy button locks automatically and the product (or that specific size/color) shows as Sold out on your live site until you enter new units on its page.
If you issue a full refund for an order and have Restock on refund turned on under Sales → Shipping → Settings, the unit is automatically added back to your stock.
Reorder the product photo gallery and write expandable details
A physical product sells visually and needs to answer practical questions before checkout:
- Photo gallery: In the information step or from the offer’s page you can upload multiple photos. Drag them (or use Move earlier and Move later) to change their order. The first photo is always the cover: it is the one shown in the store grid, on cards, and at checkout. You can also click Use as cover on any other photo.
- Expandable details (
Additional information): In the More info step of the wizard (or from the editor), you can create fields shared across all your physical products—for example, Dimensions, Materials, Care instructions, or Preparation time—using short text, text with formatting, or an image. In page designs like Vertical gallery and sticky purchase, these fields appear neatly as expandable+sections below the buy button.
