Set up fields and manage items in a CMS collection
Configure your CMS collection fields, manage items in the table, schedule active dates, and edit individual item SEO.
On this page
- Available field types (Title, Slug, Text, Rich content, Image, Image gallery, Date, Number, Color option, Link, Featured boolean)
- Add, edit, sort columns, and filter items in the collection table
- Item statuses: Draft, Published, and optional Schedule (start and end dates)
- Configure individual SEO for each collection item
- Collection and item limits by plan
Every collection in Website → Content is organized as an interactive table where the columns are the fields that define the structure and the rows are the individual items (or records). Even when you start from a collection template with ready-made fields, you can add, rename, or remove fields anytime as your project evolves.
Available field types (Title, Slug, Text, Rich content, Image, Image gallery, Date, Number, Color option, Link, Featured boolean)
To modify a collection’s structure, open it in Website → Content and click Collection fields (or click Add a property directly in the table).
Every collection includes built-in System fields that ensure each item has its own web address and can be highlighted:
- Title: the main name of the item (for example, the name of a project, dish, or team member).
- Slug (Address): the final part of that item’s URL (such as
lake-houseinside/projects/lake-house). It is generated automatically from the title, and you can edit it manually. - Featured (Boolean): a yes/no toggle (star) that lets you mark key items so you can highlight them in featured sections or filter by them on the canvas.
In addition, you can add as many custom Fields as you need:
| Field type | What it stores | Example use on your pages |
|---|---|---|
| Text and Long text | Short single-line phrases or unformatted paragraph summaries. | Subtitle, client name, job role, or summary for preview cards. |
| Content (Rich text) | Full block-based body with headings, lists, quotes, images, and links. | Detailed case study write-up, recipe instructions, or extended bio. |
| Image | A single photo or illustration with alt text support. | Project cover photo, team member portrait, or brand logo. |
| Images (Gallery) | An ordered collection of multiple photos inside the same item. | Property photo tour or a gallery of project deliverables. |
| Date, Date/Time, and Time | Calendar dates, specific times, or durations. | Opening date, concert day, or preparation time. |
| Number | Whole or decimal numeric values. | Reference price, area in square feet/meters, year, or guest capacity. |
| Option (with color) | A dropdown list of custom labels you define, each with its own color. | Project category (Architecture, Interiors), difficulty level, or status (Available, Sold). |
| Link / Button | An external or internal URL paired with button text. | Button to buy tickets on an external platform, download a PDF, or visit a client’s website. |
| Email, Phone, and Location | Direct contact details or formatted physical addresses. | Real estate agent’s email, branch phone number, or event venue. |
You can mark any field as Required so no one on your team publishes an item while forgetting a piece of data your layout depends on.
Add, edit, sort columns, and filter items in the collection table
In the main collection view, you’ll see all your items organized into rows:
- Create and edit items: click New item in the top right to open the item editor. Fill in the fields and save your changes. To edit an existing item, click directly on its row or choose Edit content from its actions menu (
⋯). - Sort and customize columns: click any column header to sort rows alphabetically or by date. If your collection has many fields, you can choose Hide in the table on specific columns to keep your workspace tidy.
- Search and filter:
- Use Search items… to find an item right away by its title or slug.
- Filter by Status (All, Published, Drafts) or turn on Starred only to see only your featured items.
- Quick and bulk actions: from any row’s menu (
⋯), you can click Duplicate to use an item as the starting point for a new one. If you check the boxes on the left of several rows, you can publish, move to draft, or delete multiple items at once.
Item statuses: Draft, Published, and optional Schedule (start and end dates)
Every item in a collection has its own publish toggle plus an optional Schedule system built for time-sensitive content:
- Draft: the item is saved in your dashboard so you can keep working on its copy or photos, but it stays invisible on your public site and does not generate an individual page.
- Published: the item appears right away in lists connected to that collection, and its individual page (
/collection/[slug]) is live for visitors. - Schedule (optional): inside an item, you can assign a validity window (No schedule, The same day, or a start and end date range). Based on those dates, véltica automatically calculates its time state:
- Upcoming: the start date hasn’t arrived yet (ideal for upcoming events, presales, or launches).
- Running: the event or promotion is active right now.
- Ended: the end date has already passed.
Thanks to scheduling, when you insert a CMS list on your pages, you can set it to show only Active (upcoming and ongoing) items, Only upcoming items, or a past archive of Finished items—without having to manually delete or unpublish records after every event.
Configure individual SEO for each collection item
Because every published item has its own URL, véltica automatically generates its metadata using the item’s Title and its first image or text field. If you want to optimize a specific item for Google or customize how it looks when shared on social media:
- In the collection table, open the item’s actions menu (
⋯) and select SEO (or open the Item SEO section inside the item editor). - Fill in its dedicated fields:
- Search engine title: up to 60 characters recommended for the blue headline in search results.
- Meta description: a summary of up to 160 characters that invites people to click.
- Social image (1200×630px): the Open Graph thumbnail shown when someone pastes that item’s link into WhatsApp, Facebook, X, or LinkedIn.
- Click Save to update the metadata for that URL.
Collection and item limits by plan
Your Content (CMS) capacity scales with your project’s plan:
| Plan | Included collections | Total CMS items |
|---|---|---|
| Free (Starter) | Up to 3 collections | Up to 30 items in total |
| Pro | Up to 20 collections | Up to 500 items in total |
| Business | Up to 100 collections | Up to 5,000 items in total |
If you ever reach your plan’s limit, all the collections and items you already created stay published on your website, and you can keep editing their content or deleting old records without restrictions; you only need to upgrade your plan if you want to add more collections or items above the limit.
