Page settings: URL slug, SEO, social share image, and password

Set up the URL slug, Google title and meta description, social share preview card, page password, and custom head code.

On this page

Every page on your site has its own address, search engine, and privacy settings. To open them, go to Website → Pages, click the ⋯ menu on the page and choose Settings, or click the gear icon next to the page name inside the editor.

Change a page’s address (slug) and what to keep in mind if you already shared it

Under General information, you’ll find the Page title and the URL slug field (for example, /services or /contact). The slug defines the exact address where that page opens on your site.

  • Use short, lowercase words separated by hyphens (-). Spaces and accents are cleaned up automatically.
  • The home page always lives at the root of your domain (/), so it doesn’t need a slug.

If you already shared the link: when you change the slug and publish the site, the old address stops working. If you already sent the previous link by email, social media, or ads, you can create another page with the old slug and use Redirect to another address (under Advanced) pointing to the new path (for example, /new-slug) so you don’t lose visitors.

Set the title and description for search engines (Google) and check the live preview

In the SEO section, you decide how your page appears when someone finds it on Google or other search engines:

  • Title (title tag): the browser tab title and the main blue link in search results. We recommend keeping it within 60 characters. If you leave it empty, véltica automatically uses the page name.
  • Description (meta description): the summary shown below the title on Google. Write a clear sentence of up to 160 characters that invites people to click through.
  • Canonical URL: tells search engines the “official” address of the page if you have the same content published under another URL. In most cases, you can leave it blank so it uses its own address.

Above these fields, you’ll see the live How it looks on Google card, which updates as you type so you can make sure neither the title nor the description gets cut off.

Choose the share image for social networks and WhatsApp (Open Graph)

When you paste a page link into WhatsApp, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, or an email, the app displays a card with an image, title, and summary. You configure this under Preview when shared:

  • Share image (OG): by default, véltica generates and uses an automatic screenshot of your page. If you prefer to show a specific photo or a custom cover designed for social networks (recommended size 1200×630 px, up to 10 MB in JPG, PNG, or WebP), click Upload a cover image. You can switch back to the automatic screenshot anytime by clicking Use the screenshot.
  • Same as SEO: turned on by default to reuse the title and description you wrote for Google. If you want a punchier headline for social media without changing what Google reads, uncheck Same as SEO and fill in Title for social and Description for social.

Hide a page from search engines (noindex) or leave it as a draft

Not every page belongs on Google. If you have a thank-you page after a purchase, a private client proposal, or a page that is still a work in progress, you have three levels of control:

Setting Where to find it What happens on your published site
Publish this page (turned off) Access / General information The page stays in Draft: it remains in your editor so you can work on it, but it does not exist on the published site.
Protect with a password Page password The page is published, but visitors have to enter the password you set (at least 6 characters) before seeing the content.
Index in search engines and Include in the sitemap (turned off) Visibility in search engines Anyone with the link can open the page, but véltica adds the noindex tag and removes it from sitemap.xml so Google doesn’t list it in search results.

Add custom code (HTML / CSS / JS) to the <head> or inside the <body>

In the Advanced section of your page settings, you’ll find the Code in the head field. Anything you paste here is injected as-is into the <head> tag of that page when you publish the site.

It’s the right place for:

  • Domain verification <meta> tags (such as Google Search Console or Meta Business).
  • Tracking pixels, analytics scripts, or chat widgets that need to load inside the <head>.
  • Extra <style> rules that should only apply to that specific page.

If instead you need to insert an HTML snippet or script that renders something visible in a specific spot on the page (like an embedded calendar, a map, or an audio player inside the <body>), place it directly on the canvas using the Custom code (Embed) block. Remember to click Save changes and then Publish your site for settings and head code changes to go live.
