Organize your Blog: categories, authors, SEO, and design

Group your posts by categories and authors, tune how they look on Google, and customize your blog design in the editor.

On this page

As your blog grows, grouping posts by topic and taking care of both their visual layout and their search engine preview helps readers find what they’re looking for and discover more of your articles.

Create, assign, and delete Categories on your posts

Categories group your articles by topic (for example, Guides, News, or Case studies) and show up as badges on blog lists and at the top of each post.

  • Create and assign: inside the post editor, go to Categories, type a name in Search or create a category, and click Create “name” (or pick an existing one). You can assign up to the maximum number of categories allowed per post.
  • Remove from a post: click the × next to the category name to unlink it from that specific post only.
  • Delete from the whole blog: if you open the category picker and click the trash icon next to a category, it will be removed from the entire blog, including already published posts. Your posts themselves are not deleted.

Create and assign Authors to credit your articles

In the post’s Authors field, you can show who wrote the article:

  • Type a name in Search or create an author and click Create “name” to add them to your blog’s author list.
  • You can assign one or several coauthors to a single post (up to the per-post limit), or leave it as No author if you prefer articles to be signed by your brand without a personal name.
  • Just like with categories, you can remove an author from a single post or delete them from the entire blog without deleting the posts.

Customize SEO and the social share image for each individual post

Inside every post you’ll find the Search and social section, split into two blocks:

  1. Search engines: set the Title and Description Google shows in search results, with the real-time How it looks on Google preview. If you leave them blank, véltica automatically uses the post’s title and excerpt.
  2. When shared: controls what people see when the link is pasted into WhatsApp, Instagram, LinkedIn, or an email. By default, the post’s cover image is used; if you want a different card for social media, click Choose image under Share image (and use Use the cover if you ever want to switch back).

Be careful when changing the Address (slug): if a post is already published and you change its Address field, any previous links you shared on social media or by email will stop working.

Insert Blog blocks on any page of your site from the editor

In addition to the dedicated /blog page, you can showcase your latest posts on your home page or any other page on your site:

  1. Open the Editor and go to the page where you want to display your articles.
  2. In the left sidebar, click Blog (or open Templates and filter by the Blog category).
  3. Pick a layout—such as a featured post or a grid of recent posts—and drag it onto the canvas.

The block updates on its own: every time you publish a new post in Website → Blog, it appears automatically in that section without you having to touch the editor.

Change the design of the main blog page (/blog) and the post reading template (/blog/[slug])

Your blog includes two special pages that you can customize visually in the editor:

  • Blog page (/blog): the index where all your published posts are listed (for example, using Cover + grid, which features the latest post’s photo at the top followed by a three-column grid, or Grid, Two columns, or Rows).
  • Post template (/blog/[slug]): the reading layout shared by all your articles. When you adjust the typography, reading width, or cover placement on this template, the change applies to every post on your blog at once.

To switch either design in one click, open the Blog panel in the editor, click Blog design, and pick an option under Blog page or Post. If you change your mind, you can undo it with Cmd+Z (Ctrl+Z on Windows).
