Billing: payment methods, invoices, and membership cancellation
Manage your saved cards, download PDF invoices, resolve past-due charges, and cancel or resume your subscription.
On this page
In User menu → Billing, you’ll find everything billed to your véltica account in one place: your membership (Pro or Business), renewals for any domains you bought here, your saved payment cards, and PDF invoices for every charge.
Adding or changing your payment card in User menu → Billing
In the Payment methods block, you can manage the cards used for your membership and domain renewals:
- Add a new card: click Add card and enter your credit or debit card details (processed securely by Stripe).
- Change your default card: if you have more than one saved card, open the options on the card you prefer and choose Make default. All upcoming scheduled charges will use that card.
- Remove a card: you can delete any card you no longer want to use by clicking Remove.
- Expiration alerts: if your default card expires this month or has already expired, you’ll see an alert at the top of Billing so you can add another card before your next renewal date.
Viewing and downloading your charge history, invoices, and receipts
On the same screen, two sections let you track your payments with full transparency:
- Upcoming charges: lists everything scheduled in the future, ordered from nearest to furthest (both your monthly or annual membership renewal and the renewal dates for each domain you bought).
- Billing history: shows every charge made on your account, from most recent to oldest, with its invoice number, date, amount, and status (Paid, Outstanding, Voided, or Uncollectible).
- Next to each charge, you can click View the invoice or Download the PDF to get your receipt right away.
- If you need to update your billing tax details or inspect the charge in Stripe, click Open the Stripe portal at the bottom of the history list.
What happens if a renewal charge fails (automatic retries and alerts)
If your bank declines the charge on your renewal date (for example, because the card expired or had insufficient funds at that moment):
- Your membership moves temporarily to an outstanding charge status, and we show a prominent notice in the dashboard (“There is a charge outstanding. Check your card so you do not lose the plan”).
- Stripe automatically retries the charge over the following days. If you go to User menu → Billing, add a valid card, and mark it as Default, the payment goes through and your plan continues without interruption.
- If the renewal still cannot be charged after all retry attempts, the subscription is cancelled and your account moves to the free plan (
Starter) until you reactivate it.
How to cancel your paid subscription and what happens to your sites when the billed period ends
In véltica, you can cancel your plan’s renewal whenever you want, with no phone calls or hoops to jump through:
- Go to User menu → Billing.
- In the Membership card, click Cancel membership (or Cancel renewal) and confirm in the dialog.
Here is what happens when you cancel:
- You keep everything you already paid for until the very last day: your Pro or Business plan stays active until the end date of your current monthly or annual billing period. If you change your mind before that date arrives, just click Resume on that same card and your membership will carry on as usual.
- When the period ends, your sites are NOT deleted or taken offline: once the end date is reached, your account moves to the free plan (
Starter). Your sites stay published online and not a single page, offer, or contact is deleted (plan overage rules apply: you can keep editing everything you already have, and you simply won’t be able to add new pages above the free limit).
