Delete your véltica account or restore it before permanent deletion

What happens to your sites, bookings, subscriptions, and domains when you close your account, and how to restore it in 30 days.

On this page

If you decide to stop using véltica altogether, you can schedule your account for deletion from your profile settings. Just like with individual projects, we apply a 30-day grace period before permanent deletion so you never lose your work or your domains by mistake.

What happens when you schedule account deletion in User menu → Account → Delete account

To start closing your account:

  1. Go to User menu → Account and scroll down to the Delete account section.
  2. Review the impact summary (sites, bookings, subscriptions, and domains) and click Delete my account.
  3. For security, we’ll ask you to type the word DELETE and confirm with a 6-digit verification code sent to your email address.

As soon as you confirm with the code:

  • All of your published sites go offline immediately.
  • Your paid membership (Pro or Business) is cancelled right away so you are never charged for another renewal.
  • A 30-day window begins: during those 30 days, your projects, images, and data are kept safe; once the scheduled date arrives, everything is permanently and irreversibly deleted.

Important notices before closing your account: upcoming bookings, active customer subscriptions, open Stripe disputes, and team members

Before you confirm deletion, véltica automatically checks all of your projects and alerts you if you have any ongoing commitments with your customers or collaborators:

  • Upcoming bookings: if you have appointments booked for the coming days, your customers won’t receive an automatic cancellation email when you close your account. Let them know or cancel those appointments from Catalogue → Appointments (or Bookings → Appointments) before leaving.
  • Active customer subscriptions: if you sold memberships or recurring subscriptions to your customers, those subscriptions will stop renewing automatically at the end of their current billing period.
  • Open Stripe disputes: if you have an open dispute (chargeback) filed by a buyer, remember that the dispute stays active in your Stripe account even if you delete véltica. Sign in directly to your Stripe dashboard to respond before the bank deadline.
  • Team members: any collaborators you invited to your projects will lose access right away.

What to choose for domains you bought in véltica before leaving (transferring with an emailed code or letting them expire)

If you bought one or more domains directly through véltica, those domains are registered in your name and remain yours until their annual expiration date. On the Delete account screen, véltica asks you to choose what to do with each domain before closing:

  1. Transfer it (Transfer to another registrar): we unlock the domain and email you the authorization code (EPP / Auth Code) so you can move it to the registrar of your choice (unless the domain is locked by a payment dispute or ICANN’s first-60-days rule).
  2. Let it expire: we turn off automatic renewal so you are never charged again and the domain is released when its expiration date arrives.

How to restore your account by signing in within 30 days and the 3 things to reactivate when you return (republish sites, reconnect domains, and pick a plan)

If you change your mind before the 30 days are up, restoring your account is as simple as signing back in to véltica with your email:

  1. When you sign in, you’ll see a screen showing the scheduled deletion date (“Your account will be deleted on [date]”) and the Restore my account button.
  2. Clicking it cancels the deletion and brings back all of your projects, pages, CMS collections, images, contacts, and history intact.

Once your account is restored, you only need to take care of three things to put everything back the way it was:

  • Republish your sites: because your sites were unpublished when you requested deletion, open each one in the Editor and click Publish to put them back online.
  • Reconnect your domains: your domains were disconnected and their auto-renewal was turned off; reconnect them to your site under Settings → Domain and turn auto-renewal back on if you want to keep them.
  • Pick a plan: because your subscription was cancelled so you wouldn’t be billed during the grace period, your account returns on the free plan (Starter) until you choose a plan in User menu → Plans.
