Delete a project and how to restore it during the 30-day grace period
What gets deleted and what is always kept on your account when you delete a site, and how to restore it within 30 days.
On this page
- How to delete a project from Settings → Site settings → Delete project
- What gets deleted with the project (pages, CMS, contacts, analytics) and what you always keep on your account (your Stripe account, bought domains, image library, and plan)
- How to restore a deleted project from the sidebar project card before the 30 days are up
If you created a test site or closed a business line and want to remove that project from your account, you can delete it from the site settings. To protect you from accidental deletions, véltica takes the site offline immediately but keeps all of its data for 30 days in case you change your mind.
How to delete a project from Settings → Site settings → Delete project
Only the project Owner can delete a project (collaborators—even Administrators—never see this button):
- Open the project you want to delete and go to Settings → Site settings.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page to the Project administration block and click Delete project.
- A dialog will open detailing What gets deleted and What you keep. To make sure it wasn’t an accidental click, type the project name (capital letters and accents don’t matter) and confirm the deletion.
That very second, the site goes offline.
If you had connected an external custom domain to that project, remember to sign in to your DNS provider and remove or repoint the DNS records that pointed to véltica.
What gets deleted with the project (pages, CMS, contacts, analytics) and what you always keep on your account (your Stripe account, bought domains, image library, and plan)
Deleting a project only clears what lived inside that specific site—it never touches the assets that belong to your personal account:
| What gets deleted with the project (after the 30-day grace period) | What you ALWAYS keep on your account |
|---|---|
| Site and pages: the published site, its files, and everything on its pages. | Your Stripe account: only disconnected from this project. Your bank account, balance, transaction history, and sales records stay intact in Stripe. |
| CMS, blog, and forms: collections, blog posts, and every form message received on that site. | The domains you bought in véltica: stay registered in your name until their renewal date, and you can connect them to any other project from Domains. |
| Contacts and sales activity: the site’s contact list, offers, booked appointments, and internal order records. | Your images and files: the media library belongs to your personal account, not to this site; everything you uploaded stays available to your other projects. |
Analytics and backups: your analytics history and every saved version (Backups) for that project. |
Your membership (Plan): your plan belongs to your account. Deleting a project does not cancel it or change its price, and that project slot frees up so you can create another one. |
How to restore a deleted project from the sidebar project card before the 30 days are up
During the 30 days following deletion, the project isn’t gone for good:
- In the dashboard sidebar (in the project switcher card at the bottom) or in your project list on Home, you’ll see the project marked as deleted along with how many days remain before permanent removal (“Deleted in X days” / “It will be permanently deleted in X days”).
- Select it and click Restore.
- The project comes right back with all of its pages, collections, offers, contacts, and backups intact.
When you restore a deleted project, remember that its website was unpublished when you deleted it: open the Editor and click Publish whenever you’re ready to put it back online.
