Connect Omnisend to send email marketing campaigns
Connect your Omnisend account with véltica to send form contacts to your lists while respecting marketing consent.

If you use Omnisend to send newsletters, automated welcome sequences, or promotional emails, you can connect it directly to véltica. That way, whenever someone fills in a form on your website, their details and tags travel automatically to your Omnisend audience without exporting and importing CSV files by hand.
How to create your API key in Omnisend and paste it in Settings → Omnisend
To link both platforms, generate a private API key inside your Omnisend account and save it in your véltica dashboard:
- Sign in to your Omnisend account, click your store profile (top right), and go to Store settings → API keys.
- Click Create API key, give it a clear name (for example,
véltica website), and make sure it has permissions to create and update Contacts. - Copy the generated key.
- In your véltica dashboard, go to Settings → Omnisend from the left sidebar.
- Paste the key into the API key field and click Connect account.
For security, véltica stores your key encrypted and never shows it again—you’ll only see its last 4 characters on screen so you can identify it. Only project owners and admins can view the integration status or replace the key.
Turn on sending to Omnisend on each form you want to connect (contact form vs. newsletter)
Connecting your account in Settings → Omnisend gets the integration ready, but it does not send anything by itself. You choose in the editor which specific forms on your site should sync with Omnisend and which ones should stay only in your véltica inbox:
- Open your website in the visual editor and select the Form you want to connect on the canvas.
- In the right inspector panel, switch to the Inbox section.
- Turn on sending to Omnisend for that form.
- Review the Tags assigned to the form in that same panel (for example,
Footer newsletterorService inquiry). When a visitor submits the form, those tags travel along with their name, email, and phone number to Omnisend so you can segment your campaigns or trigger specific automations based on which form they used. - Repeat this step for every form on your site that you want to connect, then Publish your changes.
How consent is respected: sending a contact to your list vs. subscribing them to campaigns
One of the most common email marketing mistakes is accidentally subscribing people who only wrote in to ask a support question or request a quote. The véltica integration with Omnisend automatically distinguishes between saving the contact in your audience and subscribing them to marketing campaigns based on how your form is set up:
| Type of form on your site | What the visitor does | How the contact arrives in Omnisend |
|---|---|---|
| Contact or quote form with a consent checkbox | Checks the “send me updates” box before submitting. | Created or updated in Omnisend as Subscribed to your marketing campaigns. |
| Contact or quote form with a consent checkbox | Leaves the checkbox unchecked because they only want an answer to their inquiry. | Their details and tags still arrive in Omnisend as Non-subscribed so you have their record without sending unsolicited marketing. If that person was already subscribed in your Omnisend account beforehand, their existing subscription is left alone. |
| Form without a consent checkbox | Submits their contact details. | Saved in your véltica inbox and sent to Omnisend without signing them up for campaigns, since writing to you is not asking for the newsletter. |
This lets you connect both your Newsletter sign-up and your General contact form with complete peace of mind: all your contacts and tags stay centralized in Omnisend, while only people who explicitly opted in receive promotional campaigns.
What to do if “The key stopped working” appears in Settings
If you ever delete, revoke, or rotate your API key in Omnisend, véltica detects that Omnisend rejected the connection and shows Needs attention — The key stopped working under Settings → Omnisend:
- Your messages and contacts stay safe: even while the Omnisend connection is paused, all forms on your website keep working normally, and every submission is saved in Website → Forms and Contacts.
- Replace the key: generate a new valid API key in your Omnisend account, go to Settings → Omnisend in véltica, click Change the key, paste the new key, and click Save the new key. As soon as it validates, new submissions start syncing again right away.
