Choose or change your free .veltica.com subdomain

Every project in véltica includes a free address under .veltica.com (for example, yourbusiness.veltica.com), complete with a security certificate (HTTPS) and global delivery across all plans, including the free plan.

Where to configure your site’s free address (Settings → Domain or when clicking Publish in the editor)

When you create a project, véltica automatically assigns an available subdomain based on your site’s name. You can change it at any time from two places:

1. From the dashboard: go to Settings → Domain, find your .veltica.com address under Active addresses, and click Change the address. Enter the new name and click Save.
2. From the editor: click Publish in the top-right corner to open the publishing domains menu, edit the name of your free véltica subdomain, and save the change.

If your site was already published, we start moving it to the new address right away (you will see Applying the change… and, a few moments later, It answers now). If your site has not been published for the first time yet, the subdomain is reserved for your project right away and will open as soon as you click Publish in the editor.

Subdomain availability and formatting rules (yourbusiness.veltica.com)

So that your address works in every browser and on every device, the name before .veltica.com follows three simple rules:

• Lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens (-) only: spaces, accents, the letter ñ, and special symbols are not allowed (for example, use central-cafe instead of central café).
• No hyphens at the beginning or end: hyphens can only be used to separate words in the middle of the name.
• Must be available: as you type, véltica checks in real time whether anyone else is using it and confirms when {host} is free.

What happens to your old subdomain when you change it and how it works with your custom domain

Before changing a subdomain that you have already shared on social media, WhatsApp, or printed cards, keep in mind how the change works:

• The old address stops answering: as soon as you save the new subdomain, the old link stops showing your site.
• 30-day safety hold: if your site was already published when you changed its subdomain, we hold your previous address for 30 days so no one else can claim it in case you change your mind and want to switch back.
• Working alongside your custom domain: when you buy or connect a custom domain (such as yourbusiness.com) and mark it as Primary, your .veltica.com subdomain does not disappear or break—it displays the label Included with véltica · redirects to your primary domain. Anyone who opens your old .veltica.com link is automatically redirected to your custom domain without losing the visit.
