Set up your opening hours, breaks, and blocked dates

Define your weekly working days and shifts, duration, buffers between appointments, group capacity, and holiday exceptions.

On this page

Every bookable service in Catalog → Bookable services automatically calculates which open slots to offer your customers by combining your weekly schedule, the service duration, preparation buffers, already booked appointments, and holiday or vacation exceptions.

Set the days and time ranges you work each week

When creating a service (Schedule step) or from an existing service’s detail page by clicking Edit schedule in the Session & schedule card, you can set your weekly availability in two ways:

  • Simple mode (One time range for every day you pick): Select the days of the week you work (for example, Mon through Fri) and pick a single start time (From) and end time (To).
  • Advanced mode (More options — Different hours, and more than one shift in the same day): Use this if your hours vary by day (for example, Saturday mornings only) or if you take a lunch break. On any day, click Another range to split your workday into multiple shifts (for example, 09:00 to 14:00 and 16:00 to 20:00): the gap from 14:00 to 16:00 stays closed automatically so nobody books you during your break.

Note on time zones: Schedules are stored in your project’s time zone (which you can change under Settings → Site settings → Time zone). If you are traveling and open the dashboard from another city, véltica shows a clear notice telling you which time zone the hours you enter are interpreted in.

Set up Duration, Free time before and after each appointment (Buffers), and Minimum notice

To fine-tune how time slots are spaced throughout the day, expand Advanced options inside the Schedule step:

Setting What it controls on your calendar
Duration (How long is each appointment?) Sets the length of the session (between 5 and 1440 minutes).
An appointment starts every Controls how often a selectable slot begins. By default, a slot starts where the previous one ends, but you can offer start times every 15 or 30 minutes.
Free time before (Before buffer) Sets aside minutes before every booked appointment so you can get ready. That time is blocked on your calendar without adding to the customer’s visible duration.
Free time after (After buffer) Sets aside minutes after every booked appointment to tidy up, take notes, or rest before the next one can begin.
Minimum notice Prevents last-minute bookings. If you pick 4 hours or a day, nobody can book a slot closer than that to the current time.

In the right column of the wizard you have the interactive Try your schedule tester: switch days to verify in real time how many free slots your current setup generates and how existing bookings affect availability.

Limit how many days ahead customers can book you

Just as minimum notice protects your immediate hours, the Bookable up to setting (inside Schedule → Advanced options) caps how far into the future your calendar is open:

  • Enter the number of days ahead you want your calendar to be visible (for example, 30 days for about a month, or 60 days for two months).
  • Beyond that future window, your public booking page will not show any available slots, preventing someone from booking an appointment a year out before you know your schedule.

Set up Capacity per slot: one-to-one appointments (1 person) vs. group classes or sessions (more than 1 person)

In the Settings step (How many people per slot?), you choose how each time slot fills up:

  • One-to-one (One person per slot): As soon as one customer books (or holds while paying) the 10:00 slot, that time disappears for other visitors.
  • Group (People per slot): Built for yoga classes, workshops, tastings, tours, or group sessions. You enter how many spots fit in each slot (for example, 8 people). The booking page shows how many spots are left at that hour and only closes the slot once every seat is taken. Plus, in Catalog → Appointments you can open the Group class panel to see the attendee list seat by seat.

Add exceptions and block holidays or vacations

When a specific day will not follow your usual week—because you are going on vacation, it is a public holiday, you have a morning doctor’s appointment, or you decide to open on a special Saturday—do not change your weekly schedule. Instead, go to the Exceptions section inside Schedule and click Add an exception:

  1. Pick the date in the Day field and add an optional Note to remember the reason (for example, Holiday or Vacation).
  2. Under What happens that day, choose one of the three options:
    • Closed all day: Nothing can be booked on that date on your booking page.
    • Closed from [time] to [time]: Removes only that time window on that date; the rest of your regular schedule for that day stays open.
    • Also open from [time] to [time]: Opens an extra shift on a day or time range when you would normally be closed.
