Editing text, links, and buttons on the canvas

Type directly on the page, format rich text, and connect buttons or links to pages, sections, catalog offers, or WhatsApp.

On this page

In véltica there are no side forms just to change what a heading or button says: you type directly on the canvas and see how it looks in real time with your fonts and colors.

Typing directly on the canvas and using the text formatting bar

To change any text on the page:

  1. Double-click the text on the canvas (or click it once to select it and press Edit text in its context bar).
  2. Type or paste your copy. When you’re done, click outside the text or press Esc.

While you’re typing—or whenever you highlight a few words inside a text block—the floating toolbar lets you format text without leaving the canvas:

  • Emphasis: Bold, Italic, Underline, Strikethrough, or Clear the formatting.
  • Alignment: Left, Centered, Right, or Justified.
  • Inline word color: highlight a single word or phrase inside a heading and change its color (for instance, to your brand’s Primary or Accent color) to make it stand out from the rest of the line.
  • Text style and tag (H1–H6, P, Small): use the Global text style switcher to change the block’s role (for example, turning a Heading 2 into a Heading 3) and it will automatically adopt that global style’s font and size.

Note on CMS or Catalog lists: If you try to edit text inside a repeating list (such as your offer cards or blog posts), the editor will show a Repeats badge: copy that comes from your catalog or a CMS collection is edited in the item’s own record so every card displays its own data.

Every Button, Link, clickable card, or image has a Link button (chain icon) in its context bar and a Link group in the right-hand inspector.

When you open Choose where it goes (Choose a destination), you can connect the element to any of these targets without typing paths by hand:

Destination How it works
Site pages (Pages) Pick any page in your project (Home, Services, Contact…). If you later change that page’s URL slug, the link updates automatically.
Section of this page (Anchor) Points to a specific section on the current page so clicking the button scrolls smoothly to that spot.
Catalog (Offers and Bookings) Connects the button directly to the purchase or booking page of a service, digital product, physical product, or bookable appointment.
Content (Blog and CMS) Links to a specific blog post or a published entry from any of your CMS collections.
External website (Website) Type or paste any external URL (for example, https://example.com) into the search box or under Somewhere else → Website.
Email Under Somewhere else → Email, enter your address (hello@yourbusiness.com) so clicking it opens the visitor’s email app.
Phone Under Somewhere else → Phone, enter your number (+1 555 123 4567) to start a direct phone call on mobile.
WhatsApp Under Somewhere else → WhatsApp, enter your number with its country code and an optional Starting message (for example, “Hi, I would like more information”) so the visitor’s chat opens with that message ready to send.

Inside the link picker you’ll find the Open in a new tab (Open in a new window) toggle:

  • Leave it off when linking to pages, sections, or offers inside your own site so navigation feels instant.
  • Turn it on when linking to external websites, social profiles, or documents so visitors don’t lose your page.

If you paste an email address or phone number directly into the link search bar, véltica detects the format on the fly and offers a one-click option to turn it into Email… (mailto:) or Call… (tel:).

Adding and positioning icons inside buttons

To pair a button’s label with an arrow, a WhatsApp icon, or any symbol:

  1. Select the button on the canvas.
  2. In the context bar or in the Icon group of the right-hand inspector, pick an icon from the library (you can search by keyword or filter by Arrows, Contact, Commerce, Social, and more).
  3. Choose its position relative to the label: Before the text (on the left) or After the text (on the right), or click No icon (Remove the icon from the button) whenever you want text only.
