Complete your business's tax and contact information

Why your business name, email, and address are required to sell online and how your tax and privacy details populate your policies.

On this page

When someone buys a product or books an appointment on your site, they need to know who they’re dealing with, which email address to write to if there’s an issue, and what physical address backs your legal documents. In véltica, you enter those details in one place so you never have to type them by hand into every policy.

Where to set up your company details (Settings → Business information) and why a notice appears in the menu if they’re incomplete

If you see an indicator next to Settings in your project sidebar saying “You have 1 detail left to fill in” (or several), go to Settings → Business information.

The screen is divided into three clear blocks:

  1. Legal and trading identity: what your brand is called and how it is registered for tax purposes.
  2. Address and jurisdiction: your business’s physical street address, city, and state.
  3. Contact and privacy officer: your contact email, optional phone number, and the person responsible for handling personal data requests.

The country and charging currency shown on this screen come from your regional settings. If you need to change them, a direct link right there takes you to Settings → Region and currency.

You don’t need to be a large corporation to fill out this section—it is built for freelancers, sole proprietors, and independent professionals too:

  • Trading name: the public name your customers know your project or brand by (for example, Botánica Studio).
  • Legal name (optional): the official name registered with the tax authority. This can be a company (Botánica Studio LLC) or your own full name if you operate as an individual or sole trader. If you leave it empty, véltica automatically uses your Trading name across all legal documents.
  • Tax ID (optional): your business’s tax identification number, whose label adapts automatically to the country chosen in your region settings:
    • In Mexico: RFC (Mexican tax ID).
    • In Spain: NIF / CIF.
    • In the United States: EIN / Tax ID.
    • In other countries: Tax ID. If you fill it in, it is automatically included in your Terms and conditions.

Why name, email, and full address are required before publishing policies or selling online

To activate your site’s Automatic version policies and put offers on sale, véltica only requires three mandatory details:

  1. Trading name (to identify who operates the site).
  2. Full address (street, number, district/neighborhood, city, state, and postcode—required by law in any privacy notice to identify the data controller’s address).
  3. Contact email (the official channel where customers can exercise their privacy rights or raise a claim about an order or booking).

Everything else—a legal name different from your trading name, tax ID, phone number, and legal officer name—is marked Optional and can be left blank if you don’t need it.

At the bottom of Settings → Business information, you’ll see the Legal officer (optional) and Phone (optional) fields:

  • Legal officer: the name of the person or department that handles requests regarding personal data (such as access, correction, or deletion rights). If you leave it blank, your policies automatically state that the business owner handles those requests.
  • Phone: if you add a phone number, your policies list it as an additional way to reach you alongside your contact email.

As soon as you click Save, any policy set to the Automatic version under Settings → Policies incorporates these details right away without you having to edit a single paragraph by hand.
